The acute care sector has a variety of facilities and staff who work within very busy environments with a wide variety of treatment needs. Staff are highly skilled and under time pressure constantly. We understand these demands and have designed applications that provide the right information to you at the point of care with all the speed and ease of access required for you to manage your workload.

Australia’s leading medications reference together with relevant evidence based clinical decision support, plus patient and consumer information, makes MIMS the essential choice for all healthcare organisations.
Public
MIMS supplies our premier product, eMIMSelite, to all public hospitals across Australia with the exception of the Northern Territory where the public hospitals have access MIMS through a reference viewer in the Hatrix medication management software.
eMIMSelite is designed to provide quick, easy access to relevant, concise information enabling the prescribing, administering and dispensing of medicines to be carried out in the most time efficient manner. Users can check for dosing, indications, contraindications, check if there are any drug interactions, identify pills from their shape, colour, markings etc. Warnings, issued by the Therapeutic Goods Administration and the National Prescribing Service, are also incorporated into the relevant medications providing the most recent information available.
We also supply our MIMS Integrated product to a large number of software developers who integrate the base medicine information as well as the clinical decision support alert modules into their applications. This integration provides real-time interactivity and intervention checks for doctors, nurses and pharmacists improving medication management at the point of care.
Hospitals are also avid users of our other digital products. Many states have contracted to take the mobile solutions – we have upgraded and consolidated our app-based products into a single platform, available in two distinct tiers and accessible across all devices. eMIMSplus & eMIMSelite come with an intuitive user interface for a more seamless experience and a mobile app available for both Android and Apple devices. Accessing the most up-to-date and comprehensive medicines information has never been easier.
Print continues to be popular especially for areas within a hospital where access to computers is minimal.

Day Facilities
Day care facilities traditionally are elective treatment centres where medical and nursing staff require access to current medicines information at the point of care.
We provide a variety of different product types into these facilities – some utilise bedside monitoring and require our eMIMSelite product while others prefer the quick reference print product, MIMS Abbreviated.
All these products provide the ability to quickly check medications that a patient is currently taking as well as look up dosing, indications, precaution, PBS availability etc when prescribing or administering medications
Nurses
Every nurse knows the MIMS bible (the little book!), MIMS Abbreviated, that has been on the drug trolley of every ward for over 60 years. This great book is still very widely used by nurses as a quick check on medications during administration rounds.
However, with the increasing introduction of computer screens and mobile devices into healthcare facilities nurses are also using eMIMSplus & eMIMSelite, which come with an intuitive user interface for a more seamless experience and a mobile app available for both Android and Apple devices, make accessing the most up-to-date and comprehensive medicines information easier than ever.
The electronic products are proving invaluable for them to check drug interactions particularly with patients who have multiple medications as well as checking the identification of pills e.g. admitting the patient with a plastic bag full of pills but no packaging.
