Call for Expressions of Interest – MIMS Honorary Advisory Board

This Call for Expressions of Interest will remain open for twenty-one (21) days and closes at 5:00 pm on Friday, 3 November 2017 (AEDT).

A call by MIMS for Expressions of Interest to serve on the MIMS Honorary Advisory Board is now being made. MIMS is the leading supplier of trusted, quality, independent medicines information to Australian and New Zealand healthcare professionals.

MIMS has been providing medicines information and clinical decision support to healthcare professionals in Australia and New Zealand for over 50 years. Our expert team of clinical editors and business managers together with the Honorary Advisory Board is committed to providing accurate, evidence based advice to drive quality health outcomes for Australia and New Zealand. 

Functions and Responsibilities of the Board

The role of the Honorary Advisory Board is to offer timely and appropriate advice and consultation on MIMS products and solutions. The Board represents the MIMS user community and has had a profound influence on the theoretical and practical development of MIMS. It is also uniquely positioned to reflect the voice of external stakeholders who use MIMS. 
Contributions of the Board include:

  • sharing of opinions - of how advancements in MIMS content or implementation may improve workflow in everyday practice
  • providing clinical expertise on external enquiries where required
  • providing consultation on both content and product development
  • attendance of two (2) to three (3) Board meetings per year either face to face or through teleconferencing. Travel and accommodation expenses will be covered for members based outside of Sydney.

Composition of the Board

The MIMS Honorary Advisory Board consists of a Chair and up to nine (9) members.

The Chair must be a board member appointed for his or her area of expertise, skills or knowledge and elected by the Board.

A person eligible to be appointed as a member may come from any of the following disciplines:

  • Medicine – General Practice, Integrative Medicine and Clinical Specialties (e.g. Infectious Diseases, Oncology, Neurology, Gastroenterology, Cardiology, Pain Management, Intensive care etc)
  • Pharmacy – Hospital, Community
  • Nursing – Primary and Secondary Care
  • Dentistry
  • Allied Health – all areas
  • Health Informatics
  • Sports Health
  • Education, Research and Academia

Term of Membership

Membership of the MIMS Honorary Advisory Board will be for a term of two (2) years.

Benefits of being a Board Member

As a MIMS Honorary Advisory Board member, your name and qualifications will be listed in all MIMS products (print and digital) and website. 

MIMS will provide a complimentary subscription to MIMS product(s) of their choice for all members of the Board.

Selection Procedure

After the close of the Call for Expressions of Interest, MIMS will consider the relevant expressions of interest received and inform successful and non-successful candidates by 17 November 2017.
